Trailer to The Strangers

Cinematography:
Perfect shots and all shots centred and the construction of the shots create a good mise-en-scene and a sense of a happy beginning.
the trailer grabs the audience attention by how the camera shots become uneven and doesn't follow the golden rule of constructing camera shots, by doing this the effect on the audience is that it creates tension within the situation that is going on in the trailer and intrigues them to watch the film.
furthermore the trailer has tilt/fast shots which gives a sense of pace of adrenaline and panic within the trailer, the shots show in this adrenalin build up were not only the main focus of the audiences attention but also the main events that occur in the film.

Editing:
The editing within this trailer is used very effectively as the trailer uses it all the way through.
An example of this is that at the start/equilibrium of the trailer shows smooth fading effects from one clip to another to show a sense happiness and affection between the two main characters, however this all changes to grab the audience attention as the effect of the fade transition speeds up and slowly stops fading and just cuts to each clip. This shows that everything has sped up pace and relates back to the genre of the film, which is a thriller.
Finally titles are used in the middle trailer, to attract the audience to watch further.

Sound:
They have used the sound very effectively at the start as they have collaborated a minor key with a happy clip which conveys to the audience that what is happening on screen is happy however they know from the music that there is a sense of danger and future events that will take place.
the use of diagetic sound is used very creatively by using silent background noises and focuses on the breathing noise, which constructs a whole atmosphere to the audience, which drags their attention to what is happening, which is a main aspect of trailer construction.

mise en scene:
The overall look of the film is a slow but effective build up of tension as the film uses lots of quick shots with diagetic and non diagetic sound clips to build up suspense. for example a main scene in the trailer was when a face was shown behind the unknown character which is effective as it uses all elements at once, sound clip cuts and editing that finally builds up to the climax and start of the thriller bit in the film.
